Quick Tip- Ziplocs are your Friend

One of the most important things I take on my Disney vacations are Ziploc bags. I use them for lots of things. I prefer gallon size bags and my favorite Ziploc usage for Disney world is:

  • Quart sized bags for carry on’s, up to 3 ounces of liquid in each bottle. You need to keep this one nearby when going thru airport security, you will need to send it thru the scanner separately.
  • Pack your toiletries in to prevent spills getting to all your clean clothes in case a bottles busts on the way to your destination.
  • Use one to store a dried out sponge with dish soap dried in it to wash out your refillable mug in your room.
  • Sort and pack your kids outfits including socks and undies per day, stick a card in each bag with the day of the week or a number or color (for kids that can’t read yet). When you get ready in the morning you say ok now get the Saturday (or blue card) packet out and get ready and even small kids can take care of that themselves. No more tutu’s with football jersey outfits or trying on 3 things before deciding.
  • Store your park bag stuff in them. When you go thru security just whip out the clear bag and it makes the process quicker, also keeps your stuff dry on water rides or during that sudden downpour.
  • Store wet clothes or ponchos in the park in your bag.  Just don’t forget to get them out of the bag and dry them out later!
  • Packing snacks for home.  Create your own Rice Krispy treats and Gingerbread Mickey’s are top of my favorite snacks list, load up with several before your trip home and keep them fresh for weeks in your sealed bag.
  • Keep cool snacks cool. Got a cookie or chocolate cake or a yogurt for dessert, you’re tummy is full and its 100 degrees outside? Don’t toss it, Ziploc to the rescue. Put your snack item in a bag and seal, get a cup of ice with a lid, stick it in an another Ziploc bag add your snack in the bag with the cup of ice, seal and poof an instant cooler to keep your treat cool for a few hours.
